Lee Rivers spent his formative years growing up in the countryside. Unfortunately for him, his mother was a librarian and consistently tried to get him interested in reading, but he preferred playing with his friends enjoying the outdoors. He eventually went on to graduate in finance, realized he had to read, and ended up working in the IT field for corporations like Kraft Foods and Chubb Security, the company that secures Buckingham Palace.
When his two boys were young, they would ask for bedtime stories, and since he was not the avid reader, Lee would make up stories on the spot. He would ask them the question, "give me something to start with, like an apple, a place, etc" and then would create the story then and there. After the children were older he was asked, "Hey dad, you never finished that story about ...," and this spurred him to actually write them as a present for his kids.
The day he decided to write, he spotted an ad on the internet about the National Novel Writing Month Contest, and decided this would give him a deadline, of November 30th, or 30 days to write a novel. By day 17 he already hit 50377 words, and by the end he was up to 102,133 words, winning him the award. This from someone who did not even like to read, so it was a nice milestone, and he promised his kids he would complete all the stories and write a few more for the series for readers to enjoy.
Each book in the series will be with different characters, places and storyline, but after writing the first book, this one may lead to a sequel, but later in the series.
Lee spends his spare time writing and recording music, likes watching English comedy on the BBC, has recently learned the art of cooking, and tries to exercise between his tasty but not so healthy recipes. His secret "Pico de Gallo", a salsa from the Mexican Yucatan is a friends and family favorite.
